Aloha Stadium was created in collaboration with Old Queen Street Stadium/Hawaiʻi Sports Museum to commemorate one of Hawaiʻi’s most beloved gathering places as it approached demolition.

Opened in 1975, and operating for nearly half a century, it hosted University of Hawaiʻi football, the NFL Pro Bowl, baseball from both the United States and Japan, soccer, rugby, concerts, the enduring Aloha Stadium Swap Meet, and countless other events that made the building part of the collective memory of generations of Hawaiʻi residents.

The composition draws heavily from the graphic language of the stadium’s own 1970s origins, surrounding its distinctive architecture with figures representing the many sports played there.
